Dan answered God’s call to enter part-time ministry in 1974, as a Youth pastor and as house parents of a Discipleship house for a minimum of 12 including three of their own children. This is where they learned so much about making disciples of Jesus Christ. He along with Sue has made a huge difference in the lives of so many. They went to become Co-pastor of a church in Troy, NY and after two years left to prepare to go to the Mission field. After attending Elim Bible Institute, Dan chose to remain at the Institute as Dean of Married Students and Director of Student Ministries and Director of Toymaker and Son for three years. In the mid 1980s Dan and Sue were missionaries to Uganda and Kenya.
Dan has served on the pastoral teams of seven congregations and national leadership in three different organizations. He and Sue have also been the Lead Pastors of two church plants, including River of Life. They have coached over ten pastors in planting churches in the last 30 years. Due to some incredible spiritual fathers and mothers and working through difficulties in their marriage and ministry, they have a rich heritage to draw from. They are both accredited with Gospel Crusade Ministerial Fellowship (GCMF) as Ordained Ministers.
Dan and Sue enjoy their Ottawa Riverfront home, where they have many visitors, including their 3 adult children and 12 grandchildren.
Their core messages focus on the greatness of God, Inner Healing and being fully alive and free in the Kingdom of God. They wrote a book with Guy Robitaille in 2004, FOUNDATIONS OF PRAYER COUNSELING AND HEALING THE BROKEN HEARTED. They use the book for each couple they marry, and also as a discipling tool. This book helps people to get rid of baggage from their past so it won’t hinder their growth and usefulness in God. It is really to promote Accelerated Sanctification! Their understanding of 5-fold gifting from Ephesians, The Motivational gifts and Charismatic gifts in Romans help congregations to go deeper in their service in the Kingdom. Their teaching style is expressive and down to earth.
These exhorters operate together in an apostolic and prophetic anointing with an ability to adjust hindrances in our belief systems.
There is a great feeling of familial love and acceptance within River of Life that is due in large part to the nurturing covering from Dad and Mom Chick. They encourage all to grow, glow and GO in God! They also have such a heart to awaken the world to its saviour.
It is both an honour and privilege to learn from this wise and generous twosome.
